HoW Video Production & Audio Suite
Location
Columbus, GA
Date
October 2021
Project type
Indoor Video & Audio Production
This project had a primary focus on video production with an update for the existing audio solution. We started with a new space reserved solely for the operation of the AV system. The central floor/wall-mounted rack houses all of the pre-set components that should not need routine client interaction. The supplemental floor racks under each workstation house section-specific components. The left side of the room is tailored for livestream operations while the right side of the room is for in-house operations. Both stations have an iPad with access to the Allen & Heath digital rack-mounted mixer for independently adjusting the in-house and live stream audio mixes. The livestream workstation features a custom-built, industrial-grade PC chassis licensed for Wirecast with SDI video inputs fed from a Blackmagic Design desktop ATEM switcher. The ATEM switcher has a fifty-five-inch multi view display for monitoring inputs and routing. There is a programmable PTZ camera control console immediately in front of the live stream operator for controlling the three wall-mounted Full-HD PTZ cameras positioned throughout the sanctuary. The in-house station features a custom-built PC chassis licensed for ProPresenter and a second Blackmagic Design desktop ATEM switcher for feeding the wall-mounted displays in the sanctuary. The three primary sanctuary displays include a ninety-eight-inch UHD NEC commercial display in the middle with flanking LG eighty-six-inch displays. There is a seventy-five-inch confidence display mounted in the back of the sanctuary facing the stage for presenters to monitor content being displayed behind and beside them. This design captures inputs from digital sources in the control room and sanctuary for independent distribution to live stream and in-house viewing. The system is controlled by a Furman power sequencing and conditioning solution operated by a digital keypad with single-button-press for startup and shutdown. The client has been using this system for more than a year at this point and continues to find new capabilities as they expand their technological reach through the foundation of this solution.
